Short (3 weeks) or long-term (8months) voluntary activity in Bursa/Turkey!

2 volunteers, boy and girl is needed for the project. The project will take place in a town called Yenişehir. It is an excellent agricultural town located in east of Bursa. Yenişehir  small, safe and has a wide transportation network including an international airport. Bursa where lots of agriculture products can be grown has 61 villages and every village has its own unique culture. And the volunteers have the opportunity to know these cultures and have the experiences in rural.If you like natural life, this project is complete for you.

“Die Bäckerei”  is an old former bakery and was not used for ten years. It is now a plattform for cultural exchange and should give the possibility to communicate different topics of interests, knowledge etc. It is also a place for experiment in the meaning of an easy way to try out things, because there is space (1000m2). It should not be just a place to rent for events, the topic is to support people in transforming their ideas and to arrange events together. The idea also is to mix groups of interests and genres and different ages (also in double-events) to create a situation which is not very common but very interesting in the sense of communication, exchange and also networking. The aim is to get the people to participate and take part on events, workshops to spread the idea of art and culture also among those who were not that involved at that very time. The target group in our organisation is between 20 and 70 years.

Profile of the volunteer - we would be happy to host a volunteer who:

* is between 18 and 30 years

* has interest in arts and culture

* is open-minded, flexible, friendly, communicative

* handcraft skills would be appreciated

* computer knowledge e.g. using internet

The volunteer will assist the project in support activities for mentally handicapped adults whether activities vacations (Weekends and stays of 10 days in Belgium and abroad), trips to the day or evenings.

In the preparation. This will be to invest in finding accommodation in the logistics and study activities (cultural, sports, games, etc.) and specific attractions resorts, decision contact and sending confirmations with the participants. The volunteer will play an active role in developing the program. It will have the opportunity to comment on the proposed activities of the team and will also share her suggestions.

In the course: active participation in the reception, co-facilitation of group (composed of volunteers and accompanying persons with disabilities) and stewardship during activities.

In the assessment: a post-meeting weekend (or stay) will be held with the project manager to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the weekend (or stay) and the adjustments to be made for future stays.

It may also help us develop a new project that we have been pursuing this year. It is organizing day trips to fun and cultural character or parties (such as movie nights, games, outings to amusement parks, theme days, folklore events ... ) locally in order to participate in a dynamic level of the town of Marche-en-Famenne. According to their affinities, the volunteer will have the possibility of other types of output.

Within this project defined, the volunteer will have the freedom to develop its own project

Project "Nobody knows" will take place in the fifth edition of Festival documentary "One New World" in Sofia, Bulgaria. "Nobody knows" will be short volunteer project lasting 7 weeks of activities. The main topic of the project will be: ways to increase public awareness on global, environmental, personal and social problems. Main objectives are: 1) Strengthen understanding between cultures and expansion of public awareness and critical attitude towards the problems of human and civil rights, 2) Enabling the public to join in discussions on the topics covered in documentaries .

Some of the activities of the volunteers will be: informational and technical activities during the festival, logistical support, supporting our website, creative ways to present the festival to the local community, creating fliers and posters for the festival,to make a short documentary for the 5th edition of the festival, facilitation of discussion after the screenings and others.

SPPMD is established in 1996 and main activities are aimed to organize the spare time of young people in Kavadarci and neighbourhood villages.

Since 2000 SPPMD organizes the work of the Babylon children and youth center, where over 1000 youngsters from the town and villages participate in different non-formal activities.

The volunteer will mainly be involved within various activities organized in the newly established Pro-Active Youth Club like working with children in schools,art activities,preparing some campaign about EVS -Art Workshop

The EVS volunteer will easily become familiar with the on-going activities in the clubs. Every EVS volunteer will be paired with a local volunteer-youth worker, in order to ensure both, technical and personal support - complete intercultural exchange and transfer of skills and knowledge.

H.E.R.A is deling with few programes for SRHR of young people to be offered to the youth volunteers as a place for service providing for the volonteer, and also as a environment for learning opurtunities for the volonteer.

The volonteer will be included in two main programmes :
A.The Youth Peer education program on HIV/AIDS/SRH and Tuberculosis, comprises of recruitment and training of young peer educators and trainers, as well organizing peer educational activities (workshops, condom and IEC distribution, mass youth events) among young people in schools and out-of-school settings in the rural and urban areas;

B.Youth sexual and reproductive health friendly services "Sakam da znam" - providing confidential and free of charge SRH and social services (gynaecological and dermatological care, STI testing and treatment, free oral contraceptives, IUD's and condoms, sexual counselling, informal lectures, IEC materials; peer educations, volunteer counselling and testing for HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C) to all young people, age 14 - 25, especially for the young poorest (including young Roma people) and vulnerable groups in the partnership with the Public Health Institution "Health Home Skopje".

The volunteer will realize his activities as part of the support of the animation team. The volunteer will help during the different activities. He will help the residents to participate and will help the coordinator in their organisation. Those activities having a main objective of well being for the disable people hosted in the organisation.

Different types of activities are proposed:
- Cultural activities: music, computer workshops, cooking, mosaics, slam / poetry, wood, shows, actuality…
- Leisure activities: games, sports lotto…
- Well being activities: balneotherapy, Snozelen…

The project is suitable for volunteers who want to work with disabled people.Together with the German volunteers he can offer new courses which e.g. fit to his hobbies. He could report about his home country and give the disabled as well as the young volunteers an understanding of their own culture.Volunteers should have high sensibility to work with disabled people and to support them in their development. Open mindedness and interest in working together with others would be helpful. It would be good, if the volunteers had hobbies like music or sports or even are interested in dealing with computer.

The concept of the open doors in St. Reinhildis Höstel is then designed to offer children and young people an experience space. Primary aims are to bring our children and young people meaningful leisure time activities in more detail. The Youth Centre is a meeting place for young people aged 7 to 21 years. We also offer ongoing offers such as regular cooking activities, creative activities such as handicrafts and painting, guitar lessons.

The volunteer will support the general operations of the director of the institution, especially regarding the activities. They should learn in cooperation with the educational management organization for the educational goal planning and their practical implementation. They also have an important role as an employee of the youth club and is prepared for the responsible activity and will be supported there.
The volunteer is encouraged to bring their own ideas, creativity and experience to the development of the project.

As Youth Care Tecklenburg consists of four different youth clubs, the volunteer will work in each organization. The volunteer should bring an international atmosphere to the youth center to spark interest in other cultures and different lifestyles. Direct contacts and meetings with young people from neighboring European countries are therefore urgently needed and appropriate. The volunteer is integrated into the educational team and supports the general educational and organizational work in the youth center. The volunteer will receive from the team any support to be integrated into the project in the country and in the culture. In the youth center, the volunteer has the opportunity to design their own creative project. The volunteers can discuss their ideas with young people. The work will focus on the abilities and interests of volunteers. They will participate in all activities of youth clubs.

The volunteer will work in the field of design technology and the canteen operation.  In addition to learning about workflow in the graphic area and in the canteen operation, the volunteer can experience in dealing with students and a teacher team. Arche community is situated in Tecklenburg, a small town in Northwest Germany, which is beautifully embedded in the Teutoburger forest. Tecklenburg (9,800 inhabitants) is a tourist attractive place (old town centre, walking area, open air stage). Local leisure activities and social offers are possible over different associations (e.g. sports), courses in the adult education centre (language courses among other things) and the local church municipality (different choirs and groups of music) as well as the open air stage (different smaller roles are to be occupied during the performances). Project´s theme: The Catholic Vocational School for Social Pedagogy( abbr. FSP)at Gengenbach offers vocational trainings and further education in: training as nursery nurse , advanced technical college entrance qualification, therapeutic pedagogy etc. For students the FSP provides accommodation in an affiliated boarding school. Volunteers will be involved in two main areas:
- Sensitisation, educational and training sessions.
This area can be subdivided into three main activities, addressed to different target groups.

* Towards operators, educators and families cooperating with Tangram.

* Toward the wider local community.

- Service in the live-in community.

Volunteers will give their contribution supporting the following tasks:
- looking after the girls and helping staff in teaching them different useful skills, running workshop (e.g. drawing, handicraft, singing, …);
- teaching foreign languages through joined games, songs, sport, any other activities indoor and outdoor
- introducing their culture and eventually running cultural evenings as a part of intercultural learning
- assisting local staff in other required activities (i.e. accompany educators and operators in their tasks concerning the SAED Service - Accompaniment Educative Domicile Service)
- proposing events, when possible/needed (e.g. film watching/reading books/teaching his/her mother tongue/cooking for/with the girls etc)
- helping to organise holidays, summer activities and birthdays of guests;
- supporting the outdoor activities organisation.
Volunteers could also try to establish contacts with similar institutions in their home country in order to have a mutually beneficial cooperation/exchanges among different partners in future.

The role of the volunteer, with the support of the organization, will be the integration in the project and in the community bringing new ideas and giving us a view about his own culture. The volunteer will be a part of the team and will participate in stuff meetings. The volunteer will prepare and help the staff of the organization doing educational, procreative, sportive and leisure time activities to the children/youngsters. Volunteer will have a possibility to adapt himself in rural area, to learn new social competences and how to work in the team. Volunteer will also have the opportunity to develop his/her own activities and realize new ideas. The stuff of the organization will provide all necessary help (materials, methods, etc.), but the volunteer must be autonomous to think and to prepare activities. The collectif DADOFONIC is a sheltered workshop for mentally disabled people who work as professional artists. Currently there are 12 artists with mental disabilities performing arts. Rehearsals, acting exercises, and arts are part of their work. They perform street-, stage and circusshows.

EVS Volunteers will work directly with children and youth from the OSW. They are welcome to act as assistants, and therefore
their tasks will be directly related to pupils of the centre. Nevertheless, since the volunteers have a different cultural background,
we are open to their ideas, suggestions and point of view. We welcome their suggestions and any new responsibilities.
Volunteer’s tasks will generally be divided into the fields of linguistic training and integrating into the host community .
Volunteers will have the opportunity to assist, prepare and co-run numerous educational and leisure activities. Besides the
regular school curriculum, the educational activities might include:

- theatre classes

Main tasks of volunteer on the project will be realized in youth centers and specialists center for children, who live in families that are having different social problem(addictions, unemployment, education problems). The volunteers should help workers to organize various activities for children and youth like: sport activities, educational activities (concerning emotions, solving conflicts, assertiveness, prevention against alcohol and drug addict, knowledge about human relations etc.), artistic activities, cook courses, helping children in doing their homework. He/she also will be engages in organization events and trips for the children.

Some of their tasks will be: collaboration distributing youth information through the web site and social networks, as well as support elaborating a digital information bulleting, search of information in the Internet,...
2. Consultancy Office for the promotion of European youth programmes and volunteering
We offer young people information and counselling regarding European initiatives, especially YiA activities. Aim: to bring the European reality closer to our town and promote initiatives and creativity, as well as direct participation in projects.
They will also collaborate with the staff in:
- Youth exchanges Contact with partners, help preparing projects, collaboration preparing information files, support host exchange activities, etc.
- Support specific activities. Exchange parties, courses, etc.
- Youth organisations. Contact and monitoring of organisations working on European and volunteering projects. Support youth organisations carrying out youth exchanges, etc.
- Documentation. Gathering, selection of data, documents and information related with YiA and the EU.
3. Youth Space of Corrales, Youth Space for Youth Creation of Aljaraque and Centre GUADALINFO of Aljaraque.
These are the 3 resource centres available for young people. Their aim is to open dissemination and promotion channels for young creators: music, theatre, photography, painting, etc. and to provide them with resources and services to carry out their activities.

Tasks of volunteers:
Collaboration and support tasks to entertainers and preparation of children's activities (story telling, theatre, sport games, workshops, etc.). Tasks of volunteers: support staff organising and preparing entertaining and training activities, help distributing and gathering material during activities, support in games with children, collaborate with language workshops or accompaniment to leaders in cultural visits. Social activities in Residence for elderly people, and  Cultural & youth activities  in the village.

The City Council promotes (especially with good weather) events boosting the community and its production sectors (Food Fairs, Sport Events) and traditional feasts. These activities count with a lot of public. Volunteers will be clearly play an important role in them.
Our wish is that volunteers participate in our society, promoting their presence and coordination with our associations (Youth Association, Sports Club, House-wife Association, Parent's Association, Retired People's Association,...) taking part in their activities and contributing with them.

Volunteers will play a main role in Baltanas, a small town where everyone knows everyone. They will be supported by the City Mayor and the Counsellors and will work directly with the social, cultural and youth technicians in the activities they will carry out.
They will be a reference for us, participating with other collectives, part of the City Council, promoter of their project.
We want them to have initiatives to promote or improve our activities. We will promote their personal projects.

The Foundation San Cebrián attends people with mental disabilities. It belongs to the network FEAPS (Spanish Confederation in support of the people with intellectual disabilities). Its mission is to improve the quality of life of the people with learning disabilities and their families.

Our main aim is still the improvement of the quality of life of our residents and their families.
As an added value, this project will favour an enrichment of the professionals, users and local and European volunteers. This means intercultural learning for the volunteer and our entity.
The European volunteers will enable cultural exchange and a positive encouragement through their new ideas, complementary or alternative methods and the needed motivation.
This social project will offer volunteers the chance of knowing other realities and improve skills related with social relations in a collaboration atmosphere between users and volunteers and volunteers and professionals working with us.
We can show volunteers working methodologies in specific programmes and for the daily work with our users. We are also open to receive suggestions related with previous experience of volunteers with this collective.
We also offer the chance of acquiring social experiences and abilities promoting solidarity and youth participation in the field of integration. Accepting and respecting a specific reality often comes from knowing that reality.
- The project will also favour community relations, as the community centre "House of dreams" will enable the participation of young people in activities together with people with disabilities.

Supporting social and educational  activities with  gypsy community.

This is an intercultural non-profit organisation working for the development of the Romani community in Spain. We carry out actions at a European scope.

FGS promotes the full citizenship of the Romanies in the Spanish society through:

Dignify the public image of the Romani community in society and the diffusion of its cultural values.
-Improve the quality of life of Romanies, as well as the participation and involvement of Romanies in their own development.
Information, training and counselling of anyone interested in Romani matters.
Rasing awareness and promotion of participation of different social stakeholders.
Cooperation and development of joint initiatives of Spanish and European entities.
Promotion of equality, fight against discrimination towards the Romani community. To manage this we carry out 2 types of activities:

1. Direct services to the Romani community to promote and improve their quality of life. These are social intervention programmes (comprehensive approach) which benefit about 40,000 people every year.
2. Actions promoting active policies for the Romani community. The work in this area is centred in social and political organisations, mass media, public opinion,...

Volunteers will participate in all actions carried out by FSG, guided by the professionals of the organisation, who will constantly be responsible for the volunteers.
